GRATITUIDE – A HEART ATTITUDE THAT CAN CHANGE LIVES

90 Bai de la Jaonneuse - Copy

On the island of Guernsey in the English channel on a life-changing holiday a few years ago I walked on the cliff tops and suddenly looked down on this Bay.   I remember this moment because there had been loss and grieving over the deaths of family and friends but in this moment a hush was on everything.     Thankfulness for moments that take our breath away – and these can be anywhere at any time.

GRATITUDE – MAKES THE HEART REJOICE

‘Give thanks with a grateful heart’.  This song still resounds in my heart on certain occasions.   Yesterday was my birthday and although not a ‘special one’ in the numeric sense it was a day to simply BE.   My heart rejoiced at many acts of kindness and love shown to me, and with my husband a lovely lunch in a hotel near the sea and time by the river later to simply sit and watch the world go by and read a book.

Gratitude and thankfulness can be gifts to our spirits in EVERY DAY.  Being thankful for what we have and not wasting precious moments thinking about what we do not have.   Every day is a gift with tremendous potential for an individual to achieve maybe even just ONE significant thing. One line of writing, one smile, one hug, one phone-call, one picture or photograph that can last in someone else’s mind for their whole life.

HAVE A GREAT DAY.   FILL IT WITH THANKSGIVING AND GRATITUDE.   Make you own heart REJOICE and bring joy into the life of someone else.

GO AND BE EXTRAORDINARY!

About Faye

I m a wife, mother and grandmother. I have always enjoyed writing even from an early age. My book Beyond the Ashes has been written as a labour of love. All the characters are real to me and their story needed to be told. As a Christian my desire is to write General Fiction stories about real people but Hope and a desire for 'better' will always be part of the journey. I have had several short stories published over the years and moderate success in writing competitions. I realized as I was thinking today (30/01/15) that perhaps I should add here that I have had life experiences of many valley times but also many mountain top experiences. I can understand and be beside anyone who finds their life in tatters because I have 'been' there. Of course as I have got older as well there have been the added sorrows of losing not only older family members but also one by one finding the dearest of friends and the ones of greatest support and care also dying. On the site of rich mountains has been my certainty of the value of marriage and how grateful I am that after loss and sadness I made a happy and long-lasting marriage commitment. The one who was my best friend back then is still my best friend 45 years later. Beyond the Ashes touches upon the POWER of LOVE when folk can forget about their own personal 'feelings' and reach out in LOVE to a desperate and broken person.
