HOW DEEP IS THE HOLE?

    Good Morning!

Here it is SATURDAY July 25.

This is a reflection –  a point to ponder – or maybe a weekend meditation.

Because I have a life journey behind me now where I have actually experienced both the ‘highs’ and ‘lows’ of normal living this is why I can ‘throw it out there’ hopefully as an encouragement and an inspiration.   (I am not going to look at issues of faith in this reflection – Relationship with Christ changes the Strength and Hope in all circumstances)  I am pondering  from our purely human perspective.

HOW DEEP IS THE HOLE?

Do you have a problem?   Do you have a heartache, a health issue, the loss of job, Maybe a disappointment?   Are you no longer able to do what you believe were your ambitions or goals? Are you a little ‘flattened’ by circumstances.

First.    We  need to assess.   How deep is this hole?

Can I stop  the (frustration, striving, worry, anger and self-doubt for a moment)  Can I take the time to really look at the issue?  How deep IS this hole REALLY?

2. Now can I sit?     Impossible as it might seem.  Can I simply sit at the bottom of this hole?

Can I look up for a moment?  Up there is the future.   Am I going to make this hole deeper by my actions?  Will I keep digging myself in further and further by lack of forgiveness or inability to accept help or advice etc.   (Allowing ourselves to be a victim can also dig this hole deeper)

3.    One tiny step at a time……….Just one little shovel to form a groove so we can step up.   One glimmer of hope – one touch of beauty or heart yearning – we can take our first step upward.   Make it a platform and stand. Then one tiny baby  at a time and one little achievement and the hole is no longer as deep.

HOW DEEP IS THE HOLE!   For each one of us may we find the holes turn out to be not as deep as we first believe.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

About Faye

I m a wife, mother and grandmother. I have always enjoyed writing even from an early age. My book Beyond the Ashes has been written as a labour of love. All the characters are real to me and their story needed to be told. As a Christian my desire is to write General Fiction stories about real people but Hope and a desire for 'better' will always be part of the journey. I have had several short stories published over the years and moderate success in writing competitions. I realized as I was thinking today (30/01/15) that perhaps I should add here that I have had life experiences of many valley times but also many mountain top experiences. I can understand and be beside anyone who finds their life in tatters because I have 'been' there. Of course as I have got older as well there have been the added sorrows of losing not only older family members but also one by one finding the dearest of friends and the ones of greatest support and care also dying. On the site of rich mountains has been my certainty of the value of marriage and how grateful I am that after loss and sadness I made a happy and long-lasting marriage commitment. The one who was my best friend back then is still my best friend 45 years later. Beyond the Ashes touches upon the POWER of LOVE when folk can forget about their own personal 'feelings' and reach out in LOVE to a desperate and broken person.
