Knowing really KNOWING – A midweek Meditation

40 Looking down from Icart Pt

BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD

Knowing Christ  falls into two categories

(a) Intellectual. You can learn all there is to know about Him. Years of study. Bible analysis etc etc. (I personally know a lot of intellectual information……..during all the years I never got to KNOW the Person but possibly could quote you chapter and verse on many topics.)

(b) Relational

BE STILL AND KNOW.   Not of the mind but because of resurrection and the coming of the Holy Spirit….certainty of HOPE and PEACE because HE – Prince of Peace is within.

The Bible is a LIVING Book.  We must stop treating it as just a Study Book.

Before 2015 ends Believers around the world need to truly KNOW HIM.  It’s not about a religion. (Jesus did not come to bring ‘another religion’ He came so we could have a RELATIONSHIP with God.)

BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD!

Really knowing HIM means that Christmas becomes the most beautiful, inspirational, Sacred Season of remembrance in your life.

Meditate on these scriptures:

Cols. 1: 26 and 27th.

The mystery has been hidden from ages and generations is now revealed to His Saints.  To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the Glory of this mystery among gentiles……CHRIST IN US – The Hope of Glory.

Jesus is not abstract.  He is real.

He is ALIVE in us.   If we let HIM.

F185 Reflections in the Gordon river.

BE STILL (even for a few minutes)

KNOW THAT your Saviour has redeemed you. Like a child come.

BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD!

For wherever we may travel for the rest of this week I say: a-men.(may it be so).

About Faye

I m a wife, mother and grandmother. I have always enjoyed writing even from an early age. My book Beyond the Ashes has been written as a labour of love. All the characters are real to me and their story needed to be told. As a Christian my desire is to write General Fiction stories about real people but Hope and a desire for 'better' will always be part of the journey. I have had several short stories published over the years and moderate success in writing competitions. I realized as I was thinking today (30/01/15) that perhaps I should add here that I have had life experiences of many valley times but also many mountain top experiences. I can understand and be beside anyone who finds their life in tatters because I have 'been' there. Of course as I have got older as well there have been the added sorrows of losing not only older family members but also one by one finding the dearest of friends and the ones of greatest support and care also dying. On the site of rich mountains has been my certainty of the value of marriage and how grateful I am that after loss and sadness I made a happy and long-lasting marriage commitment. The one who was my best friend back then is still my best friend 45 years later. Beyond the Ashes touches upon the POWER of LOVE when folk can forget about their own personal 'feelings' and reach out in LOVE to a desperate and broken person.

It’s that relational component that is so amazingly outstanding. I remember feeling so burdened with do’s and don’ts I just said to Him “I just can’t do it all!” and so clearly I heard Him say, “of course you can’t, that’s why I had to come.” God bless you!
