One of my true life stories. You determine. Is this a miracle?
Ghost Gum.
Lonely red road……Large trees lined both sides.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Two 18 year old young women foolishly accept a lift ‘home’ – we were guests at my friend’s sister’s farm – from two cowboys we met at a rodeo.
‘we’ll take you to the Lookout first’, Tod announced unexpectedly.
It was night-time but not late.
‘Please, just home’, my reply.
The other three all wanted to take the beautiful and lonely detour and I reluctantly agreed.
On this lonely blood red road, lined with gum trees, Tod put his foot down. We seemed to be flying.
‘Oh, please please, slow down, says I.’
I was terrified!
Both young men laughed happily as we continued to ‘fly’.
Suddenly. I clearly saw a figure in the centre of the road ahead. A hand was raised in an emphatic STOP sign.
‘There’s someone on the road’ I yelled. ‘Please slow down.’
‘Go back to sleep’ laughed Tod.
Suddenly his mate hollered. ‘ Slow down mate. Slow down! There IS someone there.’
The small car shuddered and shook as the brakes were applied. We slewed then had to make a turn to the left. A road sign was missing and the turn was very sharp.
A massive ghost gum tree had fallen, completely blocking the entire road. Its centre trunk was enormous.
The car came to a complete stop tightly wedged in the branches and covered with leaves.
We searched but there was no sign of the figure on the road.
The Police report later confirmed ‘four teenagers escaped death or serious injury because they were able to stop in time. It is a miracle!.
A miracle?
Four young folk who knew that night….. life is unpredictable. I know I was changed forever.
Why am I here? Is there a God? Who is He? These were the questions that consumed my life journey forward. I have seen many supernatural things (miracles) in my life since this day.
But forever the CLEAR, PRECISE and GRAPHIC IMAGE OF THE FIGURE ON THE ROAD remains with me to this day.

Absolutely! Reminding me of the story of Balaam’s Donkey and the Angel in Numbers 22. “And the donkey saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road, with a drawn sword in his hand. And the donkey turned aside out of the road and went into the field.” Numbers 22:23 Sounds like a “donkey” was driving the car. Thankfully, their plans for the evening were changed by the hand of God upon your lives. Yes, Faye. Thank God for his mercies – in this case sending a warning angel. We often wonder t why God allows some things. We will never know how many times, warnings have been given and ignored.
