Feathers – The Miracle of Grace (undeserved)

Good Morning!

This is a testimony of a TRUTH in my life.

feather bed - landing

2010 Guernsey – Channel Islands – UK.

-Celebrating 40 years of marriage- Our journey of a lifetime!  I know folks were praying for us.  We surrendered this time to Him and asked that in ALL circumstances He would be in control.

We walked the cliff paths.  It was a beautiful day of glorious sunshine.  There was a toilet facility made from the purest white granite in a remote cliff place.  It was chiselled from this hard stone.

I was stunned to find the door of the cubicle was solid oak with a huge brass ring handle.   A sign said…‘removed from the cabin door of a pirate vessel and a date in the 1600’s.’

I laughed, I danced, I ran.   ‘This is the most beautiful toilet I have ever seen.’

My foot missed the entrance stone step and I soared and then fell spreadeagled on the solid granite stone at my husband’s feet.

I heard the crash.  I felt the ‘thud’.  It was as if my whole body was shaken in to pieces!

Then….something happened!   This is a testimony of my life and absolute TRUTH.  It was as if I had fallen onto a Bed of Feathers.

For a few moments of absolute ‘wonder and awe’ I knew I was in the Presence of God.  There was absolute stillness and Peace.

I felt cocooned in feathers. I could have stayed there for the rest of the day.

I looked up.

David was white-faced and shaken certain I was ‘seriously injured’ or even dead.

I lifted my hand and he helped me up.

For both of us this day will forever be remembered with gratitude.

GRACE is undeserved.   Miracles are in His Will and determination.

I know this was a miracle of Divine Grace.

I will forever – as long as I live- and beyond – be grateful. We went on to have a truly memorable and wonderful celebration of our lives together.

I Thank my Saviour God!  Non-believers would try to have another explanation.

In my heart this is my memory and My TRUTH.

Have a great day all!   In whatever way you can Shine your Light for another.

LIVE!

About Faye

I m a wife, mother and grandmother. I have always enjoyed writing even from an early age. My book Beyond the Ashes has been written as a labour of love. All the characters are real to me and their story needed to be told. As a Christian my desire is to write General Fiction stories about real people but Hope and a desire for 'better' will always be part of the journey. I have had several short stories published over the years and moderate success in writing competitions. I realized as I was thinking today (30/01/15) that perhaps I should add here that I have had life experiences of many valley times but also many mountain top experiences. I can understand and be beside anyone who finds their life in tatters because I have 'been' there. Of course as I have got older as well there have been the added sorrows of losing not only older family members but also one by one finding the dearest of friends and the ones of greatest support and care also dying. On the site of rich mountains has been my certainty of the value of marriage and how grateful I am that after loss and sadness I made a happy and long-lasting marriage commitment. The one who was my best friend back then is still my best friend 45 years later. Beyond the Ashes touches upon the POWER of LOVE when folk can forget about their own personal 'feelings' and reach out in LOVE to a desperate and broken person.
