Good Morning!
A dictionary definition of ‘Grace’ is…unmerited – favour.
You cannot grab it, buy it, give it to someone else, barter it or sell it. No academic mind can pre-determine its ‘course of action’. That’s why it continues to AMAZE
Grace is like invisible showers from ‘outside’ the normal.
Grace is certainly not only for Christian believers but perhaps they are people who recognise it more readily in their lives.
John Newton was an evil man. His soul was not only black but greedy, cruel and he saw not even murder a stumbling block to achieving the mighty dollar.
Yet, on his knees he cried out to be ‘forgiven’ and Grace so overwhelmed him his whole life was turned AROUND. ‘Amazing Grace’ his hymn is the story of forgiveness and surrender to Christ as Saviour and Lord.
What is amazing about Grace is that it really can and still does, COME, ‘unexpectedly’
on anyone.
Have you ever wondered why even seemingly corrupt people ‘prosper’ and others don’t? The receivers did not pray.. Grace indeed falls on anyone. That’s why it is amazing –
BUT……if someone receives Grace and their life is not ‘turned around’ to the betterment of ‘others’…..questions arise about accountability ‘later’.
This is meant to be a blog. I have written about Grace and my musings on it in another place but here today I simply share what I woke up thinking about.
Twice in my life when I have experienced ‘unmerited favour’ it was not for me. It was so I had the strength and ability to simply BE in the same crisis situation as others. This amazing Grace was ALL for them so they would find Hope and certainty for a better life.
As a Christian believer I do thank God for many experiences of Grace in my own personal life.
However, for all my blogging friends and family this certainty I know is this……Grace is for ALL of you!
Your choice will be what you do with it in your life when you encounter it? How will you use it. Remember is some places 2016 is still referred to as the 2016th year of Grace!
Thoughts to ponder….
Live well! Shine a Light.
I love Matt Maher’s song: Your Grace is Enough and found it playing in my mind-space as I read your beautiful post! Unexpected, yes! Unmerited, always! And yet…He loves us enough that He reaches down with His loving hand to pull us up from the turbulent waters of our life. (Even if they’re only yet puddles.) Thank you for this reminder today Faye…I am so grateful you shared what you “heard” this morning! Hugs!
