How should we live as sojourners – A thought.

Good Morning – A weekend thought.

What is a sojourner?  It is someone or some life form  that is only present for a short time.  I found the thought below on a date pad. No idea who wrote it but it did resonate in my heart.

It is good that we sometimes experience adversity and sorrow, for these things make our hearts understand that we are strangers and sojourners here for only a very short time.

Shouldn’t this be the incentive to make the most of this time?  It is too short to be consumed by anger, rage, victim status, hatred, revenge, regrets, What if’s etc.   If every person could make every day count by one simple act of kindness what a different world we would live in.

BUT……….Let it begin with us, ME.

Accept the shortness of our status as aliens in this foreign land. Answer our own question of ‘where will I be spending eternity?  Then,  concentrate on living each and every day – the best we can in our jobs or responsibilities but never going to bed knowing we have left behind something unpleasant that may cause those ‘left behind ‘unnecessary regret and unresolved sadness.      SHINE LIGHT in each day.    Perhaps not always the brightest through circumstances.   But a LIGHT nevertheless.    A memory!.    A smile!.   A kindness!

Live Life – Fully, Brilliantly for others as well as self!

About Faye

I m a wife, mother and grandmother. I have always enjoyed writing even from an early age. My book Beyond the Ashes has been written as a labour of love. All the characters are real to me and their story needed to be told. As a Christian my desire is to write General Fiction stories about real people but Hope and a desire for 'better' will always be part of the journey. I have had several short stories published over the years and moderate success in writing competitions. I realized as I was thinking today (30/01/15) that perhaps I should add here that I have had life experiences of many valley times but also many mountain top experiences. I can understand and be beside anyone who finds their life in tatters because I have 'been' there. Of course as I have got older as well there have been the added sorrows of losing not only older family members but also one by one finding the dearest of friends and the ones of greatest support and care also dying. On the site of rich mountains has been my certainty of the value of marriage and how grateful I am that after loss and sadness I made a happy and long-lasting marriage commitment. The one who was my best friend back then is still my best friend 45 years later. Beyond the Ashes touches upon the POWER of LOVE when folk can forget about their own personal 'feelings' and reach out in LOVE to a desperate and broken person.

Thank you for shining THIS light into my thoughts and my ‘heart space’ today. It is wonderful for me to discover other’s desire a life full of light and love as well… “Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me!” Hugs my dear-hearted friend!
