SHADOWS and LIGHT

A thought for the week.

  shadows and light 2

         This week in our life has been an unusual mixture of shadows and Light.

The unexpected and unexplained illness of our little dog Char-Lee has ….(we’re still waiting for results of blood tests_)  brought shadows of uncertainty into our routine.    We have seen improvement in recent days but still the shadow remains.

It was when I began to research the idea of shadows and Light, that I discovered some wonderful TRUTHS that really do apply to ALL of LIFE. (confirmed in the Bible),

It is only when there are shadows that pure radiant Light can be reflected. Shown in true brilliance.

It is only when we too walk, live or experience shadows that if we STAND on the ROCK. (Jesus) who never moves we then can focus upwards, to look for the LIGHT which never is extinguished no matter how dark the shadow of uncertainty.

This quote which is not from the Bible but from someone who was searching for  an answer touched my heart and as I walked I truly saw His World more clearly and vibrantly

   I came to a realization that this is my Father’s world; He will always SHINE in all that is fair.

In the rustling grass I hear Him Pass;

He speaks to me EVERYWHERE.

Maltbie D. Babcock.

Today, my heart resonates with a prayer for all walking this road of uncertainty in our modern life,

May each One truly KNOW the ROCK SOLID foundation of what their life is built upon

and shadows and valleys are all part of a potentially Glorious purpose if we look always for the LIGHT.

Blessings and Peace!

About Faye

I m a wife, mother and grandmother. I have always enjoyed writing even from an early age. My book Beyond the Ashes has been written as a labour of love. All the characters are real to me and their story needed to be told. As a Christian my desire is to write General Fiction stories about real people but Hope and a desire for 'better' will always be part of the journey. I have had several short stories published over the years and moderate success in writing competitions. I realized as I was thinking today (30/01/15) that perhaps I should add here that I have had life experiences of many valley times but also many mountain top experiences. I can understand and be beside anyone who finds their life in tatters because I have 'been' there. Of course as I have got older as well there have been the added sorrows of losing not only older family members but also one by one finding the dearest of friends and the ones of greatest support and care also dying. On the site of rich mountains has been my certainty of the value of marriage and how grateful I am that after loss and sadness I made a happy and long-lasting marriage commitment. The one who was my best friend back then is still my best friend 45 years later. Beyond the Ashes touches upon the POWER of LOVE when folk can forget about their own personal 'feelings' and reach out in LOVE to a desperate and broken person.
