Sometimes, like a child learning to ride a bicycle we as mature Christians still need to adjust our focus in life, so we stay focussed on the way ahead and not become distracted by the many loud and strident interruptions.
Thoughts of the past must be surrendered to the ONE who holds our future and it must only be to love, comfort, and care for fellow travellers in THE WAY that we move our attention from our journey onwards.
Paul had a lot of distractions, attempts to kill, or capture him. Perhaps he, suffered from memories of past sins and was haunted by Stephen’s face as he was being stoned to death,
Despite all this he could write to the Church at Philippi. Phils: 3:13
‘Now, I focus on this one thing forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.’
Christ died to give us an abundant life. Let’s focus onwards with HIM.
