Sometimes it is better to go the long way than choosing a detour.
Society often fuels a haste to ‘get things done’……..Instant results are vital and necessary.
I personally have discovered that when I have not adequately prayed through a situation I have chosen the quickest route and spiritually speaking have ended up in a bog.
I once was so eager to finish a sewing task that I sewed a sleeve to the side of a skirt in error and had to spend a lot of time unpicking it all.
The thought that came this morning was that in our approach to remembering Christmas and the birth of Our Saviour………..Here too we must be prepared to take prayerfully the longer Way ………………enjoy the journey……..GIVING THANKS for the ‘extra’ time of reflection and not go down a detour of ‘getting it all sorted’ instantly.
WALKING THE LONGER WAY………As long as you KNOW where the road is leading.
His Presence is more important than all the tinsel.
