MOUNTAINS, TROUBLED SEAS/ MINOR IRRITATIONS

This U-Tube Song is inspirational, powerful and truthful.

Sometimes it takes a mountain.

Sometimes a troubled sea.

Sometimes it takes a desert, to get a hold of me.

YOUR LOVE is so much stronger than whatever faces me.

Saviour Lord, I need to TRUST YOU and BELIEVE.

What about the small daily irritations that rush in and overbalance us?

  •  The washing machine floods the floor and the broken pipe
  •  with a wrenching groan smashes the floor tiles.   The phone rings.   Your small son comes in. ‘Mummy I need to go toilet NOW’.

The time it takes to switch off the tap means the phone has stopped and Jimmy misses the toilet bowl by only a couple of inches, but the toilet will need to be thoroughly cleansed not just the seat but all over the outside and inside of the bowl.

Husband walks in and makes the quiet confident statement. ‘It looks very wet in here, love. Perhaps there is a leak somewhere.’         Maybe laughter later.

        But think on this…….

  •   Nasty words!
  •    Being misunderstood.
  •     Challenged in our faith or beliefs in an argumentative manner.

Irritations come in many shapes and forms maybe magnified in our thinking.

Can ALL of life’s Minor sins, irritations and mistakes be redeemed?

I believe they can. SURRENDER it ALL to HIM and leave it at the CROSS.

Remember it takes only a small irritation to create a pearl inside an oyster shell!  Keep that thought in mind

Lord help us to surrender our minor irritations as well as facing all the bigger mountains and troubled seas of life. Give us the same courage and faith to believe that You can make inside us as YOU work on sanctification through Your Holy Spirit pearls fit for the KINGDOM OF God in the image of Christ the Pearl of Great Price.

Matthew 13:45-46 Parable of the Pearl

Christ’s illustration on the great value of THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

He loves us and in His EYES our value is incalculable.

About Faye

I m a wife, mother and grandmother. I have always enjoyed writing even from an early age. My book Beyond the Ashes has been written as a labour of love. All the characters are real to me and their story needed to be told. As a Christian my desire is to write General Fiction stories about real people but Hope and a desire for 'better' will always be part of the journey. I have had several short stories published over the years and moderate success in writing competitions. I realized as I was thinking today (30/01/15) that perhaps I should add here that I have had life experiences of many valley times but also many mountain top experiences. I can understand and be beside anyone who finds their life in tatters because I have 'been' there. Of course as I have got older as well there have been the added sorrows of losing not only older family members but also one by one finding the dearest of friends and the ones of greatest support and care also dying. On the site of rich mountains has been my certainty of the value of marriage and how grateful I am that after loss and sadness I made a happy and long-lasting marriage commitment. The one who was my best friend back then is still my best friend 45 years later. Beyond the Ashes touches upon the POWER of LOVE when folk can forget about their own personal 'feelings' and reach out in LOVE to a desperate and broken person.

  1. I love that line…”It only takes a small irritation to create a beautiful pearl inside an oyster shell.” You are so right! We must turn over our small irritations, worries, and fears, over to God. He can make something beautiful out of all the messes we find ourselves in. Great post! Thank you for sharing!
