1 Cors 6:19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God and you are not your own?
20 For you were bought at a price therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God’s.
While re-reading and studying the Word and journeying back to early church problems faced by Paul on his journeys, I found myself grieving at how far our current society reflects the OPPOSITE of this view of holiness in ordinary life.
The misuse and abuse chosen by many to reflect their predetermined view of self is disturbing.
Many bodies have been violated by the sins of others and money thrown will never redeem or restore only bring closure. Help yes but where is the clear directing to what is clear in the WORD.
Coming to Jesus and surrendering a broken body, physical or internal, His shed blood can and will redeem and sanctify in preparation for Heaven.
Jesus showed while on the Earth, examples of miraculous deliverance in seemingly impossible circumstances.
His Spirit continues to point the way to holiness in life and conduct today. Society’s pull to human fairness and justice heaps money and endless programs.
What folk are choosing to do with abuse of their bodies is horrifying. Mutilations, unnecessary operations, deliberate choices …….my body…my choice etc.
FORGIVENESS, with confession of all sins is still available for ALL PEOPLE.
CONFESSION, REPENTENCE and FORGIVENESS AND RENEWAL with HOPE can be found only at the CROSS.
Let us give thanks today for the sanctity and beauty of our own frail, imperfect bodies but glorious in His Sight if we allow HIS HOLY SPIRIT to live in the Temple. Let us ensure that we prayerfully care always for how we maintain it, care for it, decorate or adorn it ever aware that it is our temporary shelter.
HE ALONE IS THE RESTORER with an Eternity Focus.
Blessings in this day to you!
Well spoken, dear Faye! Hugs to you for sharing the Truth with such loving care. May YOU be richly blessed for it.
