HIGHER THAN FRIVOLITY AND FUN -GOD’S GIFT OF J O Y

Joy inexplicable and surprising

He was not born to ensure humanity was HAPPY.

He gave mankind free Will to choose their own life’s Path.

HE came to save souls and bring to all who follow-His Pathway, HIS Presence and enabling preparation for Eternity.

The HOLY SPIRIT constantly is at work.

His Gift of JOY can be likened to an unexplained ‘bubble’ that even on the darkest road can burst forth in a moment of wonder and purest JOY.

A ray of sunlight , when sadness is dogging every footstep, suddenly touches an ugly gnarled rock and reflects on a spot of water and it sparkles like a “Diamond”.

Human grief is still profound, but the Joy of the Lord suddenly impacts with the truth of His Strength.

The Joy of the Lord is your strength. Neh:8:10

This word was penned as an encouragement to Israel as they returned to a restored temple worship and reading of the Law of Moses.

Nehemiah was Governor and Ezra the Priest and scribe while the Levites taught the people.

Many people were grieving because they had drifted away from the Word,

Neh 8: 10 in full is written Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the sweet and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared. Do not sorrow for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

The scripture was not implying any certainty of happy lives or endless fun and carnivals.

They now knew that living by God’s rules with Word and worship as their lifestyle they would have joy as their inner source of walking with God along His Way.

Thank God for the Gift of JOY the birth of the Christ-child has given to all of us who believe.

May we too know the value of this as we walk onwards with Word and Worship.

Today I will light a candle in thanksgiving to our Saviour for this gift of JOY,

The lights of HOPE, PEACE and JOY now pierce the darkness together to remember our Lord who left Heaven to be with us here so He would die to enable us to be with him eternally.

I m a wife, mother and grandmother. I have always enjoyed writing even from an early age. My book Beyond the Ashes has been written as a labour of love. All the characters are real to me and their story needed to be told. As a Christian my desire is to write General Fiction stories about real people but Hope and a desire for 'better' will always be part of the journey. I have had several short stories published over the years and moderate success in writing competitions. I realized as I was thinking today (30/01/15) that perhaps I should add here that I have had life experiences of many valley times but also many mountain top experiences. I can understand and be beside anyone who finds their life in tatters because I have 'been' there. Of course as I have got older as well there have been the added sorrows of losing not only older family members but also one by one finding the dearest of friends and the ones of greatest support and care also dying. On the site of rich mountains has been my certainty of the value of marriage and how grateful I am that after loss and sadness I made a happy and long-lasting marriage commitment. The one who was my best friend back then is still my best friend 45 years later. Beyond the Ashes touches upon the POWER of LOVE when folk can forget about their own personal 'feelings' and reach out in LOVE to a desperate and broken person.

Lovely post, Faye. Yes, His Holy Spirit ‘s Presence goes with us as we keep our eyes and heart focused on the One Who came as the Light of the world 🌎❤️.
